More Title Generators

The second title generator I
looked at focused on character. Adazing is a marketing company that works with
authors. It has a few free tools on its website, including a title creator. The
site asks you to give
your email to get the free services. Beware of follow-up emails (and plenty of
them).

Adazing has some extras I didn’t find on other sites. When
you click on their Book Title Creator, it has a list of options. Start on the
left with the genre. Then in the center, answer some relevant questions about
your main character. What is their profession, positive and negative character
traits, goal, conflict? (Hmmm, sounds a little like Donna Dixon’s Goal
Motivation and Conflict.) These are absolutely things to know about your
character. It also asks about setting.

Plug in each answer and hit
generate titles. It will generate a list of about ten titles. Click the heart
to save anyone you like. This wasn’t
working for me on Chrome. But you can copy and paste them. Don’t love any of
them? Hit the Generate More Titles button and get a new list. Scroll down
further to get some tips on creating fantastic titles.

The site also has more free
things for authors (click the button on the top). We won’t jump into them today but check out their free templates
for mockups and trailers as well as logos and bookmarks. There’s an entire list
of free items on the site.

My third title generator was
more elementary but the best so far. It comes from a fantasy name generator
site. It has tons of resources to generate character and place names for all
kinds of books (and D&D campaigns). The site is bursting with generators
for naming whatever you might need.

The title generator allows you
to select your genre. Sometimes, the titles will be a little grammatically
incorrect, but you can copy/paste and edit. Don’t like your first list? Hit the Get Names button again. On
the book title page, there are two check boxes at the bottom. I could not get
any browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge) to show me what those boxes say. But
they change your list if you check them.

I mentioned there are other generators on the site. The Fantasy
and Folklore menu includes 105 different name generators for creatures, weres, hybrid,
monsters, occupations, and more. The Real Names menu has well over 100 ethnic
name generators. The Places and Locations menu has 105 setting spots to name.
And these are just a few of the options on the top menu.

On other name generators, the boxes to add more details say
Negative traits, Gender-neutral names, English names, or whatever goes with
your category.

With this site,
you’ll never need to
think up names for anything for your book on your own again!
